Susan is an experienced Global Supply Chain and Strategic Sourcing executive with over 30 years experience in raw material management, transportation and distribution. Since joining NicheMarkets International as its Vice President of Global Supply Chain, she has assisted consumer good companies identify supply chain and sourcing opportunities, create timely implementation plans that deliver the opportunities, and manage the companies’ divisions through the turn-around and transition.

Susan has brought business best practices to second and third world countries since 1992. She has directed programming in SME business development, agricultural market (commodity) development and rural credit development. She has worked on the national level with central government agencies to create policies favorable for the proliferation of small and medium businesses. In contrast, she has also worked one-on-one with entrepreneurs venturing into business for the first time.

She has a proven track-record of enabling small and medium sized business development through the creation of favorable central-government policy, healthy micro- and small business lending intuitions, and entrepreneurial skill training.

Susan has held management position with Mercy Corps International and has consulted to Development alternatives, Inc (DAI), Agency for Rural Development (ARD) and ACDI/VOCA. She started her international career as a US Peace Corps volunteer in Latvia after the fall of the Soviet Union.

Susan holds a degree in theoretical economics from the University of Minnesota.
